Welcome to Ben Brook Cottage

Ben Brook Cottage is a simply furnished, semi-detached cottage believed to date from the 16th century. It has a very large enclosed sunny garden ideal for children and also for dogs. All grass, there are no flower beds to be damaged by games. Electricity and logs included in rent.

Ben Brook is very quiet and set deep in beautiful, unspoiled countryside. Comfortably furnished and decorated, the cottage sleeps 5 people and, in addition, there is a large cot for a baby or toddler sharing the upstairs single bedroom. The cottage is kept warm by storage heaters and a woodburning stove (electricity/logs included in the rent). There are lovely walks along the lanes straight out from the gate and an abundance of wild flowers, birds, deer and other wildlife. Keen walkers will enjoy the cottage copy of 'Charlie's Book of Walks' put together by a family who have been annual visitors to Ben Brook Cottage for over 25 years. Each walk is carefully described and graded. Some are near the cottage, others on the moors a drive away.

Wimbleball Lake

This part of North Devon is known for the brightness of its stars and clearness of its unpolluted night sky. Ben Brook Cottage garden is an ideal stargazing spot and there are plenty of owls and sometimes bats.

Our keyholder who has lived locally all his life, is next door and always on hand to help and advise holidaymakers
